You might often encounter these issues described above during an iCloud backup. In fact, if you check the forums, you might find more issue with iCloud backup. If the backup process is interrupted, the cause may be varied. Let's see what are the possible situations and how to solve them..

Scenario 1. Device backup is not done automatically at night

In order for your device to backup to be automatic every day, you must ensure that the iCloud Backup option is enabled in Settings> iCloud> Backup , your device is plugged in and connected to a Wi-Fi network, your device screen is locked, and there should be enough space in your iCloud for backup.

You can also save in Settings. Go to Settings> iCloud , then tap Backup at the bottom of the screen. Make sure iCloud Backup is turned on, then tap Back Up Now..

Note: If you see that the Back up now option is grayed out, it may be caused by a network restriction or the fact that you are not connected to Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi connection is positive.

Scenario 2. Warning message indicating insufficient iCloud storage space

In this case, you can:

1. Increase your iCloud storage plan. You can get up to 2TB of storage space. (the first 5 gigabytes are free)

2. Create a new, smaller backup. For example, delete unnecessary photos or videos..

3. To save space, delete old backups that you do not need.

Scenario 3. Message indicating a problem while activating iCloud Backup

1. Wait 10 minutes, then go to Settings> iCloud> Backup. Make sure iCloud Backup is turned on. If a different message is displayed, follow the steps below and try again.

2. Go to Settings> iCloud . Enter your account with your Apple ID and sign in to iCloud with the associated password.

3. Check if the iCloud Backup option is available on the Apple system support page.

If this issue is not resolved, contact Apple Support.

Scenario 4. Alert message indicating that your device is being restored

Stay connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network and working power source until the process is complete. Creating a backup takes time, and depends on its size and Wi-Fi speed.

Scenario 5. Message indicating that your last backup could not be completed

Check your Wi-Fi connection, as you cannot use iCloud Backup over a mobile internet connection. Go to Settings> iCloud> Backup , then tap the Back up now option. If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to contact Apple Support.
