Many documents are only available in PDF format. The problem with this is that the file cannot be edited. The easiest way to convert your PDF files to the .odt format required by OpenOffice is to use an online tool.

Note: Not all PDFs import and convert with the correct formatting. If you have problems, you can then edit the files manually.

How to convert a PDF file to .odt

1st step:

There are various websites with which you can convert PDFs into an OpenOffice document, we use online2pdf.com as an example in our instructions . Go to the page and click Choose Files .

2nd step:

Find the PDF you want in your files, then click Open . The PDF will now be added to the files to be converted. You can optionally add another file via " Browse ".

3rd step:

For shorter documents ( less than 20 pages ), enable optical character recognition ( OCR ) for better results. Click " Convert " to convert . You can convert up to 100 pages without optical character recognition. A larger number of pages is not supported on online2pdf.com.

4th step:

The file will now be uploaded and processed automatically. Depending on the size of the document, the conversion takes accordingly. When done, the .odt file will automatically download. You can usually find the file in the download folder of your PC and can now edit the PDF with OpenOffice.
