LibreOffice offers the option of converting the entire document or individual pages from portrait to landscape format. The whole thing works with the help of so-called format templates and is done relatively quickly. Read our guides if you want to learn more about them.

How to convert the entire document to landscape orientation

With the help of a format template, the entire document can be easily converted to landscape format. To do this, follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the LibreOffice Writer and click in the menu bar at the top under " Format " on " Page ".

2nd step:

Now select the " Page " tab and change the orientation to " Landscape ". Confirm by clicking " OK ". Your entire document is now continuously displayed in landscape format.

How to convert individual pages to landscape format

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

With a LibreOffice document open, click " View "> " Styles " in the menu bar . Alternatively, press [F11] .

2nd step:

A side menu opens. Here click on the fourth icon from the left for the " Page templates " option . Then right click on " Standard " and select " New ". The new format template will be based on the standard format templates and you do not have to make any extra settings.

3rd step:

Under the " Manage You can assign a name to the style and" " Next Style " option for the format the following pages should be. We choose " Standard " here, because only a single page should be in landscape format.

4th step:

Click on the " Page " tab and select " Landscape ". Confirm your selection with " OK ".

Now right-click on a part of the page that should be in landscape format and choose " Paragraph "> " Paragraph ... ".

Under the tab " Text flow " check the boxes for " Insert " and " With page template " and select your newly created template for landscape format from the drop-down menu . Confirm with " OK ". The individual page of your LibreOffices document will now switch from portrait to landscape.

  1. In the menu bar, click Format > Page .
  2. In the " Page " tab, change the orientation to " Landscape ".
  3. Confirm your selection with " OK ".

  1. In the menu bar, click " View "> " Styles ".
  2. Click the fourth Page Templates icon . Then right click on " Standard " and select " New ".
  3. On the Manage tab, give the style a name . Set the " Follow-up template " to " Standard ".
  4. Set " Landscape " under the " Page " tab in the same window . Confirm with " OK ".
  5. Right- click on the page you want to be in landscape format and select " Paragraph "> " Paragraph ... ".
  6. Under the " Text flow " tab, activate the checkboxes for " Insert " and " With page template " - Select your newly created format template from the drop-down menu . The selected individual page now changes from portrait to landscape .
