Here we explain how to use templates in LibreOffice and how to download or create them yourself..

Templates, also known as templates, are a useful tool in any word processing program to have frequently used documents immediately at hand. There are countless templates for LibreOffice on the Internet. And if there is nothing suitable there, you can even create one yourself. How exactly, we explain that to you here.

Open templates

Start LibreOffice and click on the " Document templates" button on the left . You will then see a list of all the templates available to you. To open one, just double click on it.

Download templates

1st step:

You can find many templates on the LibreOffice official website: extensions.libreoffice.org/templates . You can search for a keyword or look at the categories .

2nd step:

If you like a template, click on it. Then scroll down a little until you see the green arrow and click on it to start the download. You can then open the file and edit it in LibreOffice.

Save the file as a template

1st step:

Open the file you want to add as a template in LibreOffice. Then click under " File " on " Document templates " and select the entry " Save as document template ... ".

2nd step:

You can then define a name and a category for your template. When you are finished, click on " Save ". You will then find the template when starting LibreOffice in the " Document templates" tab .
