Follow our guide to find out how to convert a PDF file to a JPG file using a website. You don't have to download an additional program, you can easily convert it online. With this method you can also decide whether you want to convert the entire .pdf pages into different .jpg images or whether you simply want to extract the existing images from the PDF document.

How to convert a PDF file to a JPG file

Go to the Smallpdf website to convert your file. Either drag your file into the button or upload it there by clicking on " Select file ".

After the file has been uploaded, you need to choose one of two options : Either have the images extracted from your PDF document. Only the images are downloaded and saved as individual files. The other alternative is to convert entire pages. Each page of the .pdf file is saved as a .jpg image. Make your choice, then click " CHOOSE OPTION ".

3rd step:

The conversion may take a moment. After it is completed, you can click " Download File " to download your converted files. Please note that the images are saved in a ZIP archive, which you still have to unzip after downloading.

4th step:

In the new window, select the " Save file " option and click " OK ". The download will now begin and may take a moment. You will then find the downloaded ZIP archive in the download folder on your computer.

  1. Open the Smallpdf website to convert . Drag your PDF file into the marked field or upload it via " Select file ".
  2. Now you can decide how you want to convert the file: With the help of " Extract individual images ", the images from the .pdf file are automatically recognized and saved. With " Convert whole pages " each page of the PDF document is saved as a JPG file. Click on the setting of your choice and confirm with " CHOOSE OPTION ".
  3. The file is now converted. This may take a moment. Once the conversion is complete, you can use the " Download File " button to download your JPG images. These are automatically saved as a .zip file, which you then have to unzip.
  4. A new window opens in which you have to select " Save file " and " OK " so that the download starts. The downloaded ZIP archive can then be found in the download folder on your computer.
