Similar to your browser on your computer, your Android device saves all searches in the Google search history. On the one hand, it can be useful to have old search results suggested directly. On the other hand, this can inadvertently lead to unpleasant, embarrassing situations. So if you prefer to prevent these situations preventively or if your privacy is important to you, then we will show you here how you can delete individual entries or the entire search history on your Android smartphone.

Delete individual searches from Google search history

1st step:

Call up the Settings app on your smartphone. Here select the option " Google " with the subtitle " Google Settings ". Note that the interface may differ slightly depending on the installed system. In our step-by-step instructions we work with a Samsung device.

Tap on " Google Account " to access your account settings.

Select the " Data & Personalization " tab to access the data protection settings of your Android smartphone.

Scroll down to " My Activities " and open it. If you are asked for your Google login details and have deactivated automatic login, log in.

Enter " Google " above . Now look for the entries that you want to delete. For the entry you want, tap on the three-dot menu and select " Delete ".

Confirm the deletion again with " Delete ". The search query you selected has now disappeared from your Google search history.

Clear all Google search history

Open the settings of your Android smartphone. You can find the option either directly on the start page or in the app drawer . The app drawer is the menu that shows all of the apps installed on your smartphone in an overview.

Now scroll until you find the option " Google Account " to open the settings for your account.

Under the settings for your Google account, click on the " Data & Personalization " tab .

Under " Activity and Timeline " click on the sub-item " My Activities ". In the event that you are asked for your Google login details, enter them and confirm the login process.

On the start page of your activities, tap on the three-dot menu to the right of the search bar and select " Delete activities after ".

On the activity deletion page, select Delete by Date > Total So far . You must also change the selection " All products " to " Search ". Finally, tap on " Delete ".

Confirm the deletion again with " Delete ". All searches are now gone from your Google search history.
