Do you have a YouTube channel but want to delete it? We explain how to do this and also how you can temporarily hide the channel..

All your videos, comments, playlists and messages will be irrevocably removed from the video platform by deleting your Youtube channel. Are you sure you want to delete your old channel? Then follow our instructions.

Note : Deletion is only possible via the browser and not in the app.

1st step:

Sign in to YouTube with your Google account . On the start page, open the menu (☰) in the top left . There click on " Settings ".

2nd step:

Now select the item " Advanced Settings " in the menu on the left. Now scroll down until the " Delete channel " button appears and click on it.

3rd step:

Now select the correct account (if necessary) and enter the associated password . Then click on " Next ".

4th step:

You can choose to temporarily hide the channel or permanently delete it . If you want to permanently delete it, check the box next to " The following will be permanently deleted :" and click on " Delete content ".

5th step:

Enter your e-mail address again to confirm and click on " Delete content ".

6th step:

The channel will now be deleted and will no longer appear on YouTube after a few minutes.

Quick guide: delete YouTube channel

1. Sign in to YouTube with your Google account .
2. Open the menu (☰) in the top left corner.
3. A little further down, click Settings > Advanced Settings .
4. Then go to the " Delete channel " button .
5. Enter the associated password for your account and click on " Next ".
6. Select " I want to permanently delete my content " (or select " I want to temporarily hide my channel " if you just want to deactivate it) and check the box next to " The following will be permanently deleted ". Then click on " Erase Contents ".
7. Confirm the process again by entering your e-mail address and click on " Delete content ".
