The BIOS is firmware and is executed immediately after switching on during the boot process. The main task is to make the computer functional and then to start the operating system. BIOS stands for "basic input / output system" and is stored in older computer models as a small chip on the motherboard. Would you like to make changes to the hardware or set performance changes and already have background knowledge of the BIOS? Then we have listed the respective key combinations of the manufacturers in our table with which you get into the BIOS.

Note: Only make changes in the BIOS if you know exactly what the consequences will be. Incorrect settings can result in the operating system no longer starting and various parts of the computer no longer running ..

UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is built into more recent PC models . From 2020 this should completely replace the BIOS settings. The method shown here is only suitable for computers with operating system versions older than Windows 8 .

Keys to open BIOS by manufacturer:

The keys must be pressed quickly or kept pressed immediately after starting the PC . If the BIOS does not open immediately, restart the computer and try again.
