A restore point can restore your Windows operating system to a specific point in time. In this way, small Windows errors or faulty updates can be easily repaired. This is often easier than completely reinstalling Windows. Here we are going to show you how to create a restore point. In the following we explain how you can restore a restore point if you have Windows problems.

Note: If you restore a restore point, your personal data, pictures and documents remain untouched and up-to-date.

How to open a restore point

1st step:

Open the start menu . Then enter " Control Panel " and open the desktop app.

Then click on " System and Security ".

Now select " Security and Maintenance ".

Now click on " Recovery ".

Then select " Open System Restore ". You may then have to enter your administrator ID . This normally corresponds to your user data.

A new window is opening up. Click on " Next " there.

Now you need to select a restore point to open . When you have decided on a point, first click on it and then on " Next> ".

You will now be shown details of the selected restore point. Click " Finish " to begin the recovery.

This is followed by a warning that System Restore cannot be stopped once it has been started. Click Yes to begin System Restore. Note: The PC cannot be used while the restore is in progress.

  1. Open the control panel from the start menu.
  2. Select the item " System and Security ".
  3. Then click on " Security and Maintenance ".
  4. Now select " Recovery ".
  5. You will now see the Advanced Recovery Tools. Click Open System Restore . You may now have to enter your admin data . Usually these correspond to your regular user data.
  6. A new window is opening up. Click on " Next ".
  7. Then select the restore point that you want to open. Then click on " Next> ".
  8. You will now see the data on the restore point. Click " Finish " to begin the recovery.
  9. Another warning opens . Click Yes to start System Restore.
    Note: You cannot use the computer while the recovery process is in progress.
