In the folder that opens, navigate up one level so that you are in the path " C: \ Users \ User \ AppData \ Roaming \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ ". Users must be replaced with their actual Windows username. Save the folder on an external medium such as a USB stick or in a cloud. The backup of the profile folder is now complete. In the next instruction you will learn how to import this folder back onto the new PC.

Note: If you have several profiles, you should of course repeat this process for all profiles..

Re-import Firefox settings on the new PC

You then have to re-import the folder on your new or format PC in the newly installed Firefox. To navigate back to the path " C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Roaming \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ " - for users , you must insert your Windows user name. Here you paste the folder again including all copied subfolders and files. The folder for the standard profile should be named xj1gwf5l.default or something similar. The settings are imported into the new Firefox and loaded the next time it is started.
