Google Chrome creates a separate browser profile for each of its users, in which, for example, bookmarks and browser history are saved. If you want to use a different browser, you can export your browser profile from Google Chrome and paste it back into the new browser.

Export browser settings from Google Chrome

  1. Open the Explorer either by using the shortcut [Windows] + [E] or by clicking on the folder symbol at the bottom left .
  2. Click in the top bar where the directory is displayed and insert the following path:  C: \ Users \ USERS \ AppData \ Local \ Google \ Chrome > replace USER with your Windows user name and confirm with [ Enter ] .
  3. You are now in the folder in which the profiles for your browser are stored.
  4. Copy the entire contents of the folder or the actual folder to an external location , e.g. a USB stick, so that you can later paste your profile onto the new system.
  5. In the new system, open the Explorer again , call up the path and paste the profile folder you exported there .
