With Google Maps, you can not only plan routes, but also measure the distances between two points - as the crow flies. This makes it easy to find out how far, for example, two cities are actually from each other.

1st step:

Open Google Maps in your computer's browser and enter a location from which you want to measure a distance . Then right click on the map to set the starting point . Select " Measure Distance " from the context menu .

2nd step:

Now click on another point / place on the map to set the end point. Zoom out on the map to measure greater distances. A black line now appears between the points . The distance is shown in the white field at the bottom. If you want to remove a point again , click on it. To change, drag it to the desired position.

3rd step:

If you have defined several points and are back at the starting point, Google will calculate the total area and the total distance as the crow flies.

1st step:

Open Google Maps on your iPhone or Android smartphone . In the search field at the top, enter the location from which you would like to measure a distance .

2nd step:

Hold down your selected point on the map until a set marker appears. At the bottom of the app, tap " Set marker ".

3rd step:

Further settings appear . Select " Measure distance " here.

4th step:

Then select the end point of your route on the map. Zoom out on the map to get a better overview and to measure greater distances. Tap the plus symbol or " Add point " when you are satisfied with your selection. The distance between the two points is now displayed in the lower left.

5th step:

If you want to remove a point , tap on the marked arrow at the top right of the app. The entire route , you can tap on the three dots and " Delete revoked".

1. Open Google Maps in your computer's browser . Enter the location in the search field from which you would like to calculate a distance or area .
2. Make a right click on your starting point "and select the context menu Measure Distance ".
3. Then click on the map on the end point to which you want to determine the distance. A black line will appear with a kilometer indication.

3. At the bottom of the app, tap " Set marker ". This will open the settings .
4. Select " Measure distance " here.
5. Now select an end point to which you want to measure the distance. Then tap on the plus symbol or on " Add point ".
6. To remove a point, tap the arrow at the top right. The entire route , you can tap on the three dots and " Delete revoked".
