A normal printer is not equipped with a duplex function. You can still print double-sided with this trick..

Printing sheets on both sides saves a lot of paper - but very few printers are equipped with the so-called duplex function, which can write on both sides at the same time. With a little trick you can also print Word documents on both sides with a normal printer - and with relatively little effort.

Print on both sides with a normal printer - that's how it works

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open your document in Word . Then click on the " File " tab at the top left .

2nd step:

Now select " Print " on the left. Then click on the settings item " Print all pages " and a drop-down menu will open.

3rd step:

Now select the option " Print odd pages only " by clicking on it.

4th step:

Then click on " Print ". You should make sure that the setting " One-sided printing " is retained.

5th step:

Now remove the printed sheets and put them back in the printer as a stack - this time the other way around so that the reverse side is now printed. Then click on "Print all pages " again and select " Print even pages only ".

6th step:

Now click on " Print " again. Again, make sure not to change the " One-sided printing " setting . If everything worked, your Word document is now printed on both sides.

Note: Be careful when reloading the paper in the correct order. For example, if your printer cannot print in descending order, the order is important. Direction also plays a role. It is best to use a sample print to mark where the bottom left is so that the back is not upside down when printing on both sides..

quick start Guide

  1. Open the desired document in Word. Then click on " File " in the upper left corner .
  2. Select the " Print " tab . Then click on the first point under the " Print all pages " settings . A drop-down menu opens.
  3. Now select " Print odd pages only ".
  4. Then click " Print " to print all odd pages (or the front pages ). You should make sure that you do not change the selection " Single-sided printing ".
  5. Then put the stack of your printed pages back into the printer . But this time the other way around , so that the backs are printed. So now select the option " Print only even pages " under " Print all pages " .
  6. Click on " Print " again to print all of the reverse sides . Now you have printed out your entire document on both sides - and all without a printer with a duplex function!
