In order to separate different areas on a hard drive under Windows 10, partitions can be created. But if there is suddenly insufficient space in a partition, remedial action must be taken. With Windows standard tools you can easily enlarge a partition. But watch out: You need administration rights to carry out these instructions. In addition, you can only enlarge a partition if there is still free space available on the hard disk that has not yet been assigned to a partition.

Note: The "Extend Volume" option only works with standard tools if the unallocated space is adjacent to the partition to be enlarged. If there is another occupied partition in between, you will need an external tool such as MiniTool Partition Wizard.
