In case you forgot your password to sign in to Outlook, you will need to reset it. If you have saved an alternative e-mail address or a telephone number in your Outlook account, you can easily verify yourself via the Microsoft Account Manager. How to reset your Outlook password

1st step:

Open this page from Microsoft to restore your account. Enter the e-mail address for which you forgot the password here.

2nd step:

You will now be given three options on how you would like to receive the security code. The procedure for the first two options is obvious and is explained further in this guide. If you don't know your email address or phone number, see our reset guide without this information . Click on " Send Code ".

3rd step:

Check the mailbox of the specified e-mail address or the messages on your phone. You should have received a code which you must now enter in the field provided. Continue by clicking on " Next ".

4th step:

Enter a new password in both fields. Please note the information on password security . Complete the restoration of your Outlook account with " Next ".

Reset without an alternate email address or phone number

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open Microsoft's password reset page . Enter the e-mail address for which you want to reset the password here.

2nd step:

Select the third option " I don't have this information " and click " Next " to continue.

3rd step:

Enter your email address for your Outlook or Microsoft account again. In the second title block, enter a different email address for the recovery of your account. To verify, you still need to enter the characters you see. Click on " Next ".

4th step:

Now check the inbox of your other email address . You have received a code that you must enter in the field provided. Then click on " Confirm " again.

5th step:

Follow the instructions and give as many answers to the questions as possible below. The aim here is to verify you as the owner of the account. Continue the process by clicking " Next ".

6th step:

Again, provide as much correct information as possible. Then click on " Next ".

7th step:

The last step is to provide the email addresses of contacts you recently emailed to and the exact subject lines of the last emails . Use the text fields below for this. Finally click on " Next ". Microsoft will now contact you at your alternate email address within 24 hours with further account recovery instructions . If you have provided enough correct information and your request is accepted, you will receive an email with the steps to reset your password.

1. Open Microsoft's recovery page and enter the email address .
2. Choose how you 'd like to receive the security code. Click on " Send Code ".
3. Check the alternate email address or your phone messages . Enter the code and click " Next ".
4. Select a new password and complete the process with " Next ".
