Groups on WhatsApp can be created quickly and are also very useful if you want to get in touch with several people at the same time. Often, however, such groups are simply no longer used at some point. How to remove them from your WhatsApp is explained in our step-by-step guide:

Note: You can only leave WhatsApp groups and delete them from your smartphone. This does not delete the app from other group members.

1st step:

Open WhatsApp and tap " Chats " in the lower right corner . Look for the group you want to delete and wipe you in this for the left .

2nd step:

Now tap on " More ".

3rd step:

A submenu opens in which you tap on " Leave group ".

4th step:

You will be asked whether you really want to leave the group or whether it is sufficient to mute it. Here tap on " Leave group ".

5th step:

The group is still saved, but you can see that you have left the group. To delete them permanently, swipe left again and tap on " More ".

6th step:

In the submenu tap on " Delete group ".

7th step:

Tap on " Delete Group " again. As a result, the group disappears permanently from the chat overview and from the memory of your iPhone.

1st step

Find the group you want to delete and press and hold it. When it is highlighted, click on the three dots above . This will take you to the menu .

2nd step:

In the menu, tap on " Leave group ".

3rd step:

Confirm your decision by tapping " Exit " again.

4th step:

The group is still listed in the chats. " You have left the group " is now written below the group name . Now mark the group again and tap on the trash can symbol in the top center to permanently delete it .

5th step:

You will be asked for confirmation again . Tap on " Delete ". The group is now removed from your storage and no longer appears in the chat overview.

1. Open WhatsApp and find the group you want to delete in the chats.
2. Swipe the group left and tap " More ".
3. In the submenu tap on " Leave group ".
4. The app asks you to confirm . Tap here again on " Leave group ".
5. Below the group name it is now displayed that you have left the group. Swipe the group left again and tap " More " again.
6. In the submenu select " Delete group ".
7. Confirm your choice by tapping on " Delete group " again when asked.
8. The group is no longer deleted from your chats or from the iPhone storage.

1. Open WhatsApp and find the group that you want to delete. Hold it down until it is highlighted.
2. Tap the three dots in the top right to open the menu .
3. In the menu, tap on " Leave group " and confirm with " Exit ".
4. The group will still be listed in the chats. Now press and hold the group again until it is marked and then tap on the trash can symbol in the top center to permanently delete it.
5. Confirm your decision with " Delete ". The group is removed from storage and is no longer listed in the chat overview.
