Use the chat function in YouTube - here's how

Notes: You have to be logged in to the YouTube app in order to use the chat function. The functionality for chatting is identical in the Android and iOS app. The screenshots show the Android version of the YouTube app.

1st step:

Tap the Share button below the video.

2nd step:

Now select one or more people from your YouTube contacts with whom you want to share the video. If you select multiple people, a group chat is created . In this guide we will explain how you can add YouTube contacts.

3rd step:

Now enter a message that you want your chat to begin with. Now tap on " Send " (small paper plane on the right) to start the chat.

4th step:

Your contact will now receive a notification from the YouTube app on their smartphone or tablet. All chat participants can then comment on the video or share new videos in the chat .

5th step:

You can now find the chat under the menu item " Activities ".
