  • Did you enter the correct password? Check to see if you might have accidentally turned on Caps Lock.
  • Are you connected to the internet? If you have linked your Windows account to your Microsoft account, you have to enter the password of your Microsoft account. You need an internet connection to register.
  • Forgot your Microsoft password? You can reset your Microsoft password here.
  • Has an update just been installed? Try restarting the PC and signing in again.

Start Windows in Safe Mode

Only basic Windows functions are available to you in Safe Mode and is primarily useful for troubleshooting your PC. Because if the problem doesn't occur in Safe Mode, you know that default settings and drivers aren't causing it.
