Total Commander is a Windows file manager that can be adapted to the needs of the user in a variety of ways. Among other things, you can do this with numerous plugins, which you can find and download on the official Total Commander website. We explain here how to install the plugins for the file manager.

How to install plugins for Total Commander

The installation is different for some extensions. On the official website of Total Commander ( https://www.ghisler.com/dplugins.htm ) the plugins are sorted by categories. There you can find out what type of plug-in you are about to install. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Download the plugins that you want to use. You can find many plugins on the Total Commander website: https://www.ghisler.com/dplugins.htm . Then open the folder where the files were saved . Usually this is the Downloads folder .

2nd step:

Now extract the files from the .zip folder. You do this by right-clicking on a .zip folder and clicking "Extract All ... ". You can then choose in which folder the files should be extracted.

3rd step:

Once the files are unzipped, open Total Commander to add the plugins there. Click on " Configure " at the top and then on " Settings ... ".

4th step:

Now click on " Plugins " in the list on the left .

5th step:

Now click on " Configure " for the respective plug-in that you want to install . You can find out what kind of plug-in it is on the Total Commander website .

6th step:

Packer extension : Enter the appropriate file extension in the field next to " All files with extension " . For the " DiskDir " plugin that would be lst . You can find out which file extension you need on the Total Commander website . Then click on " New ". Other extension : Click the " Add " button .

7th step:

Now select the previously unzipped file . Then click the " Open " button . Click " OK " in all open dialog boxes . The plugin is now successfully integrated into Total Commander.

1. Download the plugins you want to use from the Total Commander website . Then open the file location , usually the " Downloads " folder .
2. Extract the files from the .zip folder by right-clicking them and then clicking on " Extract all ... ".
3. After you have extracted the files, open Total Commander . Click on " Configure " at the top and then on " Settings ... ".
4. Click on " Plugins " on the left .
5. Then go to the " Configure " button behind the respective plug-in type. You can find out which type of plug-in you want to install on the Total Commander website ( https://www.ghisler.com/dplugins.htm ).
