The presenter view is a feature that was first implemented in PowerPoint 2013. To use it, you either need two screens or you have to display the slide show on a projector. Your presentation will then be shown to the audience on one screen (or above the projector). The said presenter view is displayed on the other screen or on your connected computer. Additional functions are now available to you.

Activate presenter view

Normally the feature of the presenter view should be activated automatically . If this is not the case, you have to open the " Slide Show " tab in the editing view of PowerPoint . On the far right, check the box next to " View of speakers ". This view is now activated during the slide show.

The presentation for the audience can be seen on the left-hand side and the presenter view on the second screen on the right-hand side.

A variety of tools are available below the current slide:

  • With the pencil symbol you can use your mouse pointer as a laser pointer or you can mark and draw freehand on your slides.
  • You can use the symbol with the four squares to quickly display a complete overview of all slides. This helps, for example, to estimate how many slides you still have to present.
  • You can use the magnifying glass symbol to manually select sections of your presentation that you want to enlarge. You can use this function, for example, if you specifically point out a graphic and want to explain it in detail.
  • The on- screen icon gives you the option to hide the presentation so that the audience only sees a black area until they click the icon again.
  • Additional options are available to you via the three circled points . You can use this to hide the presenter view, for example.
