Microsoft Word is a word processing program with tons of useful features. If you want to give a presentation with the Office program or want to print something, you don't have to use the boring, white standard background. Instead, you can change the background color of Word documents as you like - whether just a single color or with a gradient. We'll tell you how exactly you do it.

How to change the background color in Word

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Start Word and click on " Page Color " in the " Design " tab at the top .

2nd step:

With a click on " More colors ... " you can choose your own color value if you do not like any of the predefined colors from Word. Confirm your color with " OK ".

3rd step:

If you click on the " Fill Effects ... " button, you can choose color gradients , structures , patterns or an image as the page color . Here, too, click the " OK " button again to confirm your selection.

4th step:

If you want to go back to the standard color (white), click on " No color ".

quick start Guide

  1. Start Word and click on " design " and " page color ".
  2. Then go to " More Colors ... " to create your own color . Confirm with " OK ".
