The quick start function of Windows 10 ensures that your PC starts up particularly quickly. But sometimes problems can arise with dual-boot systems or older computers. Then you can easily deactivate the quick start function. In the following we will show you where you can turn the function off and back on again.

1st step:

In the Windows or Cortana search, enter " Control Panel " at the bottom left and click on the corresponding result.

2nd step:

In the Control Panel, click on " System and Security " in the upper left corner .

3rd step:

Now click on " Power Options ".

4th step:

Then open the " Choose what to do when you press power buttons " option in the top left .

5th step:

Now click on the link " Some settings are currently unavailable " above .

6th step:

Now remove the check mark in front of " Activate quick start (recommended) " in order to deactivate the quick start. Confirm your settings by clicking on " Save changes ". You can reactivate the quick start at any time by ticking the box again.

1. Open the control panel via the Cortana or Windows search.
2. Click on " System and Security " and then on " Power Options ".
3. Now click on " Select what should happen when you press the power button " in the left column .
4. Then click the " Some settings are currently unavailable " link above .
5. To deactivate the quick start, remove the tick in front of " Activate quick start (recommended) " and confirm by clicking on " Save changes ". The quick start is reactivated by ticking the box again.
