How to test the speed of your hard drive

Start PowerShell by right-clicking the Windows icon in the lower left corner and selecting " Windows PowerShell (Administrator) ".

In order to determine the read speed of your hard disk, enter the command winsat disk -seq -read -drive x and press [Enter] . For the letter x, insert the respective letter of the drive under which your hard disk is located.

Wait a moment for the exam to complete. Now look at the two values ​​in the " Disk Sequential " column . The first is the actual speed at which the hard drive reads files. The second value is a speed rating on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being very good.
