PowerPoint presentations often tend to get very large and can then usually no longer be sent by e-mail. Especially when you add tons of pictures and videos. In the following, we will explain how you can reduce the size of your PowerPoint file.

How to compress PowerPoint files

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the file you want to shrink in PowerPoint .

In the upper left, click File .

Now go to " Save as " in the menu on the left and click on " Browse ".

Then click on " Tools " and " Compress Pictures " at the bottom of the window .

You can then choose how high the resolution of the images should be. Choose an option and click OK . Note : The smaller the resolution, the worse the image quality in your presentation.

Now save the file in the folder of your choice. You can see that the file size is now smaller. Note : If the file is still too large to be sent by email, you can use Google Drive instead. Please read our post " What is Google Drive? "
