There are advantages to sharing your Outlook calendar. It makes the coordination of meetings and other dates much easier. However, there is one requirement to be able to use this function in Outlook: You have to use a Microsoft Exchange account. But there is also a viable alternative for those who do not use such an account. You can read about the options here.

Share Outlook Calendar

Alternatively, if you don't have a Microsoft Exchange account, you can email your calendar. With this function, the recipient will receive your calendar as an attachment to an email. However, the attached calendar is only a snapshot . This means that possible changes in your calendar are not synchronized. Open your calendar in Outlook and click on the " Send calendar via email " icon in the top menu . Then confirm with " OK ".

A window will now open in which you can select the correct calendar and the desired period . After you have made your selection, confirm with " OK ".

Your calendar will now be loaded into an email. Now enter the recipient (s). If necessary, you can also write a short message text. Finally click on " Send ". The recipient then receives the mail with your calendar attached.

Manage calendar permissions

You can assign appropriate permissions to everyone with whom you share your Outlook calendar. In this way, you have control over whether a person is only allowed to read your calendar or whether it is also allowed to make changes and entries.
