Telegram is a popular messenger app for smartphones. You can not only send pictures and videos with it, but also so-called stickers. These are small pictures that represent different emojis in countless forms. But Telegram has also made such stickers available for WhatsApp, if you prefer this messenger. We explain here how you can use the sticker packs in Telegram and WhatsApp and even create your own sticker packs.

Use stickers in Telegram

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open Telegram , go to any chat and tap the smiley to the left of the writing field .

2nd step:

Now tap on the sticker in the lower right to open the sticker menu.

3rd step:

You will see all the sticker packs that you have there. By default, you should already have a package. If you want to send a Telegram sticker , just tap on it and it will be sent immediately .

4th step:

If you press the gear symbol in the lower right corner, you can manage your sticker packs .

5th step:

Under " Trending Stickers " you can see Telegram stickers that are very popular right now and download them right away. You can also remove sticker packages by tapping on the three dots behind the respective packages and selecting the appropriate option.

6th step:

You can also open the search bar by swiping down on the sticker menu . There you simply enter a suitable keyword to search for the corresponding stickers.

7th step:

You will then see all the matching stickers in the sticker packs that you have downloaded. This makes it easier for you to find your way around your parcels and you can respond to every situation with the right sticker.

8th step.

You can also just type in an emoji that matches the emotion you want to send. You will then be shown suitable stickers that you can send immediately.

Use Telegram stickers in WhatsApp

Telegram has also released some sticker packs for WhatsApp. You can download these from the App Store for iOS devices or from the Play Store for Android devices. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions ..

1st step:

Open the App or Play Store and enter " Telegram LLC " in the search bar .

2nd step:

Then select " 10 Sticker Packs for WhatsApp ". Make sure the publisher is Telegram LLC ! Other sticker apps could be dubious and dangerous.

3rd step:

Then tap on " Install ".

4th step:

After the installation, switch to WhatsApp and go into a chat.

5th step:

For the smileys, tap the last symbol at the bottom.

6th step:

You will now see all of your stickers . Tap a sticker to send it. Above you can choose other sticker packs and with the plus symbol on the right you can download other packs.

Create your own sticker pack

Telegram also offers you the option of creating sticker packs yourself. You can easily create the sticker images in an image processing program, for example with the free GIMP software, in the given dimensions. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the photo editing program GIMP and go to " File " and " New " in the menu or press [Ctrl] + [N] .

2nd step:

Stickers on Telegram may only have a maximum size of 512 x 512 pixels . Enter these values ​​in the fields under " Image size " and then confirm with " OK ".

3rd step:

Then click in the menu on " Layers " then on " Transparency " and " Add alpha canal ". In this way, the image area outside the outer edge remains transparent and creates the popular sticker look.

4th step:

Drag the picture that you want to make a Telegram sticker onto the free image area . You can tell whether your picture contains transparent areas by the gray checkerboard pattern. Then go to " File " in the menu and then to " Export ".

5th step:

Make sure to enter the file extension .png to get the correct file format. Then click on " Export ". Before you continue in Telegram, you should either download the image file to your smartphone or use the Telegram desktop app .

6th step:

Open Telegram and tap the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner.

7th step:

Type " Stickers " in the search box, then click on the chat named " Stickers ". Pay attention to the blue check mark behind the chat name to select the correct chat. " Bot " should also be noted under the chat name .

8th step:

In the open chat, tap on " Start ".

9th step:

To create a new sticker pack, simply enter " / newpack " or tap the link in the sticker bot's first chat message . You will then be asked for the name of the sticker package . Just type this in too.

10th step:

Now you can fill your sticker pack with stickers. To do this, tap on the paper clip symbol in the lower right corner and then on " File ".

Attention: Adding stickers does not work via " Gallery ".

11th step:

Now look for the image file that you want to add as a sticker in the corresponding directory of your mobile phone . Tap to select it.

12th step:

The sticker bot then asks you to select the emoji under which the sticker should be saved. Tap the smiley face icon in the lower left and select the appropriate emoji . Repeat the procedure from step 10 to add multiple stickers to your sticker pack.

13th step:

If you do not want to add any more stickers for the time being, enter " / publish " or click on the link in the chat message. Now you can send the stickers from your own sticker pack to your contacts.

Quick guide: Telegram sticker

1. Go into Telegram in an arbitrary chat and tap the Smiley left of the writing field.
2. Now press the last symbol below , which looks like a square face.
3. You can see all of your sticker packages . If you want to send a sticker, tap on it.
4. You can manage your packs using the gear icon at the bottom right .
5. Under " Trendy Stickers " you can see packages that are very popular right now. You can download the packages directly or remove them using the three points .
6. Look for specific stickers by in the search bar at the stickers a search term entered. You will then receive suitable suggestions.
7. You can also simply enter an emoji . Suitable stickers will then be suggested to you.

Quick guide: Stickers in WhatsApp

1. Open the Play or App Store and search for " Telegram LCC ".
2. Tap on " 10 Sticker Packs for Whatsapp ". Make sure the publisher is Telegram LCC !
3. Then tap on " Install ".
4. Now switch to WhatsApp and go into a chat .
5. For the smileys, tap the last symbol at the bottom .
6. You will now see all of your stickers. To send it, tap on a sticker. Above you can choose other packs and with the plus you can add more packs.

Quick guide: Create your own sticker package

1. First open the GIMP and create a new image file there. To do this, either press [Ctrl] + [N] or go to " File " and " New " in the menu .
2. Now enter the maximum size of 512 x 512 pixels and confirm with " OK ".
3. For transparencies in the image go to " Transparency " in the menu via " Layers " and then to " Add alpha channel ".
4. Now you can simply drag and drop your desired image onto the screen . To save the image, go to " File " and " Export " in the menu or press [Ctrl] + [E] .
5. Enter the file extension " .png " and then click on " Export ". If you would like to create the sticker package with your smartphone, first download the image file to your smartphone. Alternatively, you can also use the Telegram desktop version.
6. Open Telegram and tap the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner .
7. Then enter " Stickers " in the search field and tap on the chat with the name " Stickers " and the blue check symbol on the right.
8. Now tap on " Start " in the chat .
9. Enter " / newpack " or tap the link in the first message from the sticker bot. You will then be asked to enter the package name . Enter the name like a normal chat message and send it.
10. Use the paper clip symbol at the bottom right to add the image file to your package as a sticker. To do this, tap on " File ".
11. Then select the corresponding image file .
12. Now you can decide under which emoji the sticker should be found. You can select any emoji using the smiley symbol at the bottom left .
13. To publish your sticker package, enter " / publish " at the end or tap on the corresponding link in the last message from the sticker bot.
