Under Windows 10, the autostart folder in the start menu is no longer in the form that you are used to from older Windows versions. However, you do not need any additional software to edit the files in Windows 10's autostart. All you have to do is open the Task Manager - there is no longer a folder. So you can easily see which programs start automatically when your computer starts up.

View autostart in the task manager

  1. Right click on your system tray.
  2. Now select " Task Manager ".
  3. In the task manager you only have to click on the " Autostart " tab . So you can see all programs in the autostart.
  4. If you want to remove a program from the autostart, all you have to do is click on it and press the " Deactivate " button at the bottom right . This program will no longer start automatically when your computer starts up.

By the way: You can also add programs to the autostart. To do this, press [Windows] + [R] and enter " shell: startup " in the Run menu . You can then drag the program's .exe file into this folder.
