The audiobook service Audible, launched by Amazon, offers audiobooks for a monthly fee. But how much do you actually have to pay for the different subscription models? You can read all the information below.
The standard subscription
With the standard subscription you pay € 9.95 per month. For this amount you will receive a credit which you can redeem for one of around 200,000 audio books. You also get unlimited access to all Amazon Original Podcasts.
One advantage of this Audible subscription is the flexible term: you can cancel whenever you want. But you also have the option of taking a subscription break of up to three months in Audible, if you do not want to cancel immediately. But even after you cancel, you can continue your subscription at any time.
Redeeming your credit is also completely flexible. Even during a subscription break, your credit does not expire and can be redeemed. Please note, however, that if you cancel your subscription, you will lose all credit. A credit has the value of the monthly amount, i.e. € 9.95. For this amount you will receive an audio book. So you get three audio books for half the price for the first three months. You can also conveniently cancel this subscription at any time.
Prime members benefit
If you are already an Amazon Prime customer , you will receive two audiobooks free of charge as a new Audible customer. You can also have unlimited access to Amazon Original Podcasts for one month. After this trial period, you then pay the regular price of € 9.95 for the Audible subscription..
Students also receive a special offer
If you have an active Prime Student membership, you get six months of Audible at half price. However, this offer cannot be combined with the other offers. With the Audible Student subscription, you save around € 30 within the six months. After this, you pay the regular Audible price of € 9.95 again.
Trial subscription for newcomers
If you are not sure whether you like the Auddible offer, you can try the audiobook service for a month. In this free trial month you will receive an audio book of your choice. After 30 days you will then pay the full price for the Audible subscription. You can cancel the trial month at any time before it expires so that you do not have to pay a monthly fee afterwards.
