If you no longer want to use a PSN account on your Playstation or if you sell your Playstation, you can delete your account. In the following we will show you how this works. But be careful: when you delete a PSN account, all games purchased and associated with it will be deleted.

Effects of account closure

Closing your PSN account has some consequences: Your previously used online ID cannot be used to create a new account.

Content (such as games) or subscriptions purchased through the PSN Store will no longer be available . This means that all games bought purely digitally are no longer accessible to you. A transfer of the games to another account or a full refund of the purchase price is not possible. So you should consider leaving your PSN account in place but just not using it at times. If you then want to access your games again, you can simply log in again with the existing account.

After a complete deletion, you can no longer access any credit that may still be available. Unfortunately, you cannot have the credit paid out either. You could only use it to buy new games for your account - but the games will also be deleted.

Have your PSN account deleted

Unfortunately, there is no completely manual way how you can delete your account. Instead, you need to contact Sony customer service. There you can request the deletion of your account:

Go to this Playstation help page and enter " Close account " in the search bar . Below you will find the point " Call us " or you can dial the number 0800/070664 directly . Have your login ID and online ID ready. So far, a phone call is the only way you can close your account. There is also no final deletion, only a closure..

Scroll down the above help page. The free service hotline 0800/070664 is named under "Call us". You must contact them with the necessary information to have your account closed.
