Sometimes spaces appear in places where you don't even want them. In Excel, an incorrectly set space can have undesirable consequences and, for example, result in a formula no longer being recognized. Of course, this also affects the corresponding function. How to remove spaces from cells read below.

Delete spaces in Excel

  1. Open the search window in Excel with [Ctrl] + [F] .
  2. Click on " Replace " to use the search / replace function.
  3. Just enter a space in " Search ". Do not enter anything in the " Replace " field .
  4. If you now "to search all click," you are all spaces in your table displayed. Excel shows you this in the corresponding cell, but also outputs a complete list with all spaces.
  5. If you are sure that none of the spaces belong in your table, you can click " Replace all ". Otherwise, you can use " Find next " to skip individual, desired spaces. You can then use " Replace " to delete unwanted spaces.
