Check boxes to be checked off are always part of a form or a checklist. You can read how to insert such a checkbox in Word in our step-by-step instructions. Even the digital ticking off of a cash can be realized with Wordd.

Insert the checkbox for the analog check-off

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Write down your checklist in Word and make a paragraph after each item. Then select all objects in the list.

In the " Start " tab you will find an overview of the bullet points. Click on the small arrow to the right of the symbol and then select " Define new bullet point ... ".

A new window is opening up. Select " Symbol ... " here .

Above you have the option to choose a different font. Set this option to " Wingdings ". In the picture we have marked some symbols for you that are suitable for a checklist. Confirm your selection by clicking " OK " in both windows .

Your checklist is now ready. For example, you can print them out and check them off yourself. Or you can change the empty squares to the checked squares later, for example.

Activate the developer tools in Word - more on this in this article . Then select the " Checkbox Control " (the small ticked box icon) in the appropriate tab .

This allows you to insert check boxes in front of the items in your checklist. You can actually tick these off by clicking on them. Either create a single box and then write the checkpoint behind it. Or you write down your checklist first and then insert a box in front of each element.

  1. Write down the items on your checklist one below the other and mark them.
  2. Then click on the arrow next to the bullet points in the " Start " tab at the top . Select " Define new bullet points ... ".
  3. In the new window click on " Symbol ... ".
  4. In the " Wingdings " font you have a few characters to choose from, which are suitable for a checkbox. Click on your desired character and then select " OK ". Confirm again with " OK ". Now you have checked boxes on your list.
