To access some PlayStation services, you will need an account for them. You need the account, for example, to adapt your avatar or to share achievements from games with your friends. But don't worry, you can still play games on your console without a PSN account.

Sign in to PSN

In the following, we will show you how to create a PSN account on the PC. But it is also possible to create a PlayStation Network account directly on your PlayStation console. On the PS4, you will need to select your username from the main menu and then click [New to PlayStation Network? Create an Account] to convert your local account to a PSN account.

1st step:

Go to the Sony website to log into PlayStation Network. Select " Create a new account " there.

2nd step:

Click " Start " to begin the login process.

3rd step:

Now enter the required login data. This includes your e-mail address - this will be used as your login ID in the future. You also need to set a password. Then click on " Next ".

4th step:

Now you have to choose your country. Usually Germany is already preset. You must also provide your date of birth. This is important, for example, if you want to buy age-restricted games from the PlayStation Store. Once you have entered everything, select " Next " here as well .

5th step:

Now you have to read through the privacy and data protection regulations. When you are done, click " Continue " below . Alternatively, you can adjust certain details of your account using " Change ".

6th step:

In the last step, you will be informed of the terms of use and data protection guidelines. It is best to read it through again. You also have the option of ticking a box for a newsletter - but this is not absolutely necessary . Once you've finished everything, all you have to do is click on " Agree and create an account ". You have now successfully created your own PSN account. You can use this on all PlayStation consoles of the newer generation, for example PS3, PS4 and the handhelds PlayStation Portable and Playstation Vita.

5. Then enter your region - this is usually Germany. You must also provide your date of birth. Click on " Next " here too .
6. Read the privacy policy now. Then click on " Continue ".
7. You will now see some usage guidelines and similar agreements. Read them through and finally click on " Agree and create an account ". You have now successfully logged into PlayStation Network.
