The translation of texts or entire documents is often tedious and takes a long time. Microsoft Word helps with this and automatically translates text sections or entire documents into another language. The function is available to all Microsoft 365 subscribers on Windows and Mac. You can read exactly how a translation with Word works in the following instructions.

Translate text section

1st step

Select the desired text section with the left mouse button. Then right- click on the text and select " Translate " from the menu .

2nd step

A window appears on the right in which the translation is displayed. In addition to the " To " field, you can select the target language you want from the drop-down menu .

3rd step

To replace the source language text with the translation, select the section in the document and click " Insert ". If you want to keep the original text in addition to the translation, you can go to a desired position in the document and click on " Paste " on the right ; the translated text will then be copied there.
