The tape measure app allows you to measure objects with the iPhone. You can find out how this works here..

Since iOS 12, the use of a third-party tape measure app has been superfluous. Apple is now integrating its own app for measuring real objects. You can find out how the supplied measuring tape app works in this guide.

How to measure an object with the tape measure app

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Make sure you are using iOS 12 . Open the tape measure app .

2nd step:

You need to calibrate the app first . Follow the instructions. To start , you just move your iPhone.

3rd step:

You should now see a three-dimensional square . The calibration is still ongoing and you still need to move your iPhone .

4th step:

After the final calibration you will see a dashed circle . Find an object of your choice and the app will automatically measure it by tapping the circle. If the measurement is not accurate, you can also measure the object manually .

5th step:

This works with the "+" button by setting your own points and measuring the object. Repeat the process until you have measured the desired length or the entire object.

6th step:

You can then use the release button to take a photo of your measurement .

quick start Guide

1. Open the Tape Measure app on your iPhone.
2. Calibrate the app by following the instructions .
3. Move the iPhone until a dashed circle is shown.
4. Find a real object and tap the circle. The object is measured automatically.
5. You can insert manual measuring points using the " + " .
6. Repeat the previous step until you have measured the desired lengths or the entire object .
7. You can use the release button to take a photo of your measurement.
