Has someone sent you an Excel document but you don't have Microsoft Excel? Or have you given up Microsoft Office and switched to Google Drive? No problem: you can easily edit your Excel files with Google Sheets. And while Google Docs doesn't support some of the features and characteristics of an Excel document, it works pretty well.

How to import Excel files to Google Sheets

1st step:

To view an Excel document in Google Sheets, you must first upload the file to your Google Drive. To do this, open Google Drive and click " New ".

2nd step:

Then select the option " Upload files ".

3rd step:

Now search for the desired Excel document and then click on " Open ".

4th step:

Then wait for the file to be uploaded. You can recognize this by the notification at the bottom right.

5th step:

Now right click on the Excel file and then select " Open with " and then " Google Sheets ".

6th step:

You can now view and edit the Excel table.

7th step:

If you would like to save the table as an Excel document again, simply click on " File " at the top and then select " Download " and " Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) " one after the other .
