If you would like to use POP3 instead of IMAP for your t-online account, you have to set up the server manually. We show you how this works here..
Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) is a transmission protocol with which an e-mail client such as e.g. B. Thunderbird or Outlook, can pick up e-mails from the t-online e-mail server. In contrast to IMAP, POP3 saves the e-mails locally on your device and deletes them from the e-mail server. t-online uses different server settings for the protocols. In the following you will find out which these are and how they are entered using the example of Thunderbird.
If you would like to access your data via POP3 and not IMAP via the t-online server, you must enter the correct data during the account setup. Note that while Thunderbird is able to obtain the data automatically, you may have to enter the data manually. First, add a new account. Then the following settings must be made for the incoming and outgoing mail server:
Incoming mail server for POP3:
Outgoing mail server for POP3:
POP3 is now used for your e-mail access and SMTP as the outgoing server. The correct setting is made through the server input from securepop.t-online.de and securesmtp.t-online.de. For other e-mail clients such as Windows Mail or Outlook, the process for POP3 is identical: Create a new account and enter the above data.
