Video files can be a pain. The 4K footage you captured with your smartphone is far too big to email, while the old home videos you made back then are often saved in formats that many modern apps just can't support. Thank goodness there are video file converters that allow you to convert your videos and export them to a format and quality of your choice. There are many video conversion tools out there for different devices. In the following, we will use the Any Video Converter software .

How to convert videos

1st step:

First, install Any Video Converter. You can find the download link here: https://www.any-video-converter.com/products-freeware/ . After installing the converter, the first thing you need to do is tell the program which video you want to convert. There are three ways to do this: using the Add Files button , by dragging and dropping the video file (s) into the main window , or by specifying the URL of an online video in the application to be downloaded and converted.

2nd step:

When you add a video, you will see details about its format, audio format, and whether it has subtitles. You can also add multiple files to convert one by one. Then select the desired target format . To do this, open the drop-down menu above. Here you will find various formats, which are divided into categories. There are tabs for popular video formats like WMV, MPEG or GIF, Android or Apple devices, for game consoles and even for really old phones that can't handle modern video sizes or resolutions.

3rd step:

You can then select the desired quality under " Basic Options " on the right . When you have chosen the format and quality, all you have to do is click " Convert ".

4th step:

The Any Video Converter now shows a progress bar during the conversion ; the higher the video quality and the larger the file, the longer it will take to convert.

5. Step:

When the conversion is complete, Any Video Converter will open the job in your file explorer .

3. Then select the desired target format from the drop-down menu above .
4. You can then select the desired quality under " Basic Options " on the right .
5. Then click " Convert ".
6. Any Video Converter will now convert your file. This can take several minutes, depending on the file size and resolution.
7. When the conversion is complete, Any Video Converter will open the file in File Explorer .
