Would you like to change the date of birth of your Facebook profile? We'll explain in a nutshell how to do it..

If you made a mistake in the date of birth when creating your Facebook profile or if you simply want to change your age online, you can change the date of birth later. You can read exactly how this works in the following.

How to change the date of birth on Facebook

Our instructions work in the classic and the new Facebook design. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

First click your name at the top of the homepage, then click " About " in your profile . In the new Facebook design, go to your profile using the arrow pointing downwards at the top right and select " Info" .

2nd step:

In the menu on the left, click under Info on " Contact information and general information ".

3rd step:

Here you scroll down to " General Information ", in the new design " General ". Move the mouse pointer over the " Date of Birth " field and click on the " Edit " button that appears . In the new design click on the pencil symbol .

4th step:

Finally, you can change your birthday via a drop-down menu. If the settings are correct, complete the process with " Save changes ", in the new design " Save ". You cannot change your date of birth as often as you like. If you've done this recently, you might have to wait before changing it again.

1. At the top of the news feed in classic Facebook, click your profile name , then click About . In the new design, go to your profile via the arrow menu at the top right and then to " Info ".
2. Now click on " Contact information and general information " on the left.
3. Under " General information " (in the new design " General ") move the mouse pointer to the field " Date of birth " and click on " Edit " (in the new design on the pencil symbol ).
4. Change the date and complete the process with the " Save changes " button (in the new design, " Save ").
