As a company, association or public figure, you can no longer do without a Facebook page. In contrast to a Facebook profile, Facebook pages can be managed by several people. In addition, an imprint can be specified on a Facebook page. In these instructions we explain how to create a Facebook page.

Old Design: How to Create a Facebook Page

1st step:

To create a Facebook page, you need a personal Facebook profile . Log into your Facebook profile and then go to the little blue arrow in the top right corner . Then click on " Create Page ". Note: This function is not available in the app.

2nd step:

In this step you have to assign your page to a rubric: You can choose between " Company or Brand " and " Community or Public Figure ".

After you have decided on a rubric, enter the name and the exact category of your page. Don't worry, you can change the category later.

Now upload a profile and cover picture for your site by clicking on " Upload profile picture " and then selecting the appropriate picture file. The dimensions for the profile picture are 160 x 160 pixels and for the cover picture 851 x 315 pixels. If you want to upload your profile and cover picture later, click on " Skip ".

5th step:

Your Facebook page has now been created. To add important information, click on " Settings " and then on " Page information ". Here you can change the rubric, describe your Facebook page and add an imprint or address data.

In this step, you can add other people to your Facebook page as admins, editors, moderators, etc. To do this, click on " Settings " on the top right of your Facebook page and then on " Roles for the page " on the left . Under Assign new page role , you can enter the name or email address of the relevant person. To the right of this you can choose a role for this person. The choices are administrator, editor, moderator, advertiser and analyst . Depending on the role, the person has different editing rights on the Facebook page. For example, the administrator can change all the settings on the page, while the analyst can only view statistics on the Facebook page. Finally, confirm your selection with " Add ".

7th step:

If you want to get back to your personal profile , click on your name above. To return to the created page, click the arrow in the upper right corner and then click the name of the page.

New Design: How to Create a Facebook Page

Log in to Facebook in your browser and then click on " Create " in the top right corner . Then click on " Page ".

Enter a page name and a category for your page. You can also define a description . Then click on " Create Page ".

Now you can add a profile picture and a cover picture for your page. Make sure that your profile picture is 170 x 170 pixels and your cover picture is 1640 x 856 pixels. Click on " Save " to apply the changes or to skip the image selection.

4th step:

Your page has now been created. You have several options for editing the page. For example, you can upload a cover and profile picture, add new buttons and make various settings under " Settings " in the left bar or " More " in the bar under the page name.

You can now also assign roles to other people on your side. To do this, click on " Settings " in the left bar and then on " Roles for the page ". Under " Assign new page role " you can now enter the name or email address of the respective person. On the right you can set the role for this person. There are administrator , editor , moderator , advertiser and analyst . Depending on the role, the person has different powers on the page. For example, the administrator can change all of the settings on the page, while the analyst can only view statistics on the page. Confirm your selection with " Add ".

To get to your personal Facebook profile, click on your profile picture or on the arrow in the upper right corner and then on " View your profile ". To call up your created page again, click on it in the bar on the right on your home page .

Quick start guide (old design)

  1. Log into your personal Facebook profile . Then click " Create " at the top of the list, then click " Page ".
  2. Select a suitable rubric .
  3. Enter the name and a suitable category of your Facebook page.
  4. Upload a profile and cover picture .
  5. Under " Settings "> " Page information " you can adjust the rubric, description, imprint and address data of your Facebook pages.
  6. To add another admin to the page, click Settings > Roles For The Page .
  7. By clicking on your name above you will get back to your personal profile. To return to the created page, you have to select the arrow in the upper right corner and click on the page name.

Quick Start Guide (new design)

  1. Log in to Facebook in your browser and go to " Create " in the top right corner and then to " Page ".
  2. Enter page name and category one, possibly also a description. Then click on " Create Page ".
  3. Now you can set the profile and cover picture of your page. Dimensions: For the profile picture 170 x 170 pixels, for the cover picture 1640 x 856 pixels. Finally click on " Save ".
  4. Your page is now ready. However, you can continue to edit them in a variety of ways .
