Your email address becomes especially important if you have forgotten your Facebook password, as it can be reset with it. However, you can add a new email address to your Facebook profile in just a few steps and use it as your primary contact address. What exactly you have to do for this is what we explain to you in these instructions.

1st step:

Log in to Facebook with your login details. Then click on the downward pointing arrow in the upper right corner and go to " Settings " (in the new Facebook design you must first click on " Settings and Privacy ").

2nd step:

Under " General " click on the " Edit " button under " Contact ".

3rd step:

Then click on " Add another email address or phone number " (in the old Facebook design " Add another email address or phone number "). Then enter your new e-mail and then click on the " Add " button . The changes will then be saved automatically , but you still have to confirm the change by sending an email code.

4th step:

In the old Facebook design, the newly added email address is automatically saved as the primary address . If you want to change the primary contact address, select the desired address . Then click on " Save changes ". You may have to confirm the change by entering your password.

1st step:

Start the Facebook app on your smartphone or tablet. At the top right, tap the burger menu (☰). On the iPhone , the symbol can be found below.

2nd step:

Now scroll down and open the " Settings and privacy " menu . Tap on the " Settings " entry .

3rd step:

Then tap on " Personal Information ".

4th step:

Now go to " E-Mail Address " to make settings for your e-mail.

5th step:

Tap " Add Email Address " and enter your new address.

6th step:

Tap on " Primary Email Address " to adjust it.

7th step:

Select the address you want and then tap " Save ".

1. Log in to Facebook , click on the downward pointing arrow in the upper right corner and select " Settings " in the menu (in the new Facebook design, click on " Settings and privacy " beforehand).
2. Under " General " click on " Edit " next to the entry " Contact ".
3. Then go to " Add another e-mail address or telephone number " and enter your new e-mail . Click " Add " to save your changes.
4. To change the primary email address , click " Edit " next to " Contact " again, then select the address you want . Click on " Save Changes ".

1. Open the Facebook app and tap the burger menu (☰) in the top right. The iPhone is at the bottom.
2. Scroll down to " Settings and Privacy " and open the menu by tapping on the entry. Then tap on " Settings ".
3. Now click on " Personal Information ".
4. Tap " Email Address ".
5. Enter your new email after tapping " Add Email Address ".
6. To change the primary email address , tap Primary Email Address .
7. Select the desired address and then tap on " Save ".
