Sometimes you create tables in Excel that you want to print out later. Then it is helpful to know how wide the columns actually are. By default, Excel calculates this in pixels, but you can also display the column width in centimeters. We'll show you how to do this in this article.

1st step:

Switch to the " View " tab .

In group " Workbook Views " click " Page Layout ". Excel will now switch to layout mode and you will see a ruler above your worksheet . You can use it to read the width of the columns and the table in centimeters .

3rd step:

To find out the width of individual columns without reading them, right-click on the corresponding letter . Then select " Column Width ".

A small window appears with the column width in cm. You can also change the width here if necessary .

Note: You can find out the line height in cm in the same way..

quick start Guide

  1. Go to the " View " tab and then in the " Workbook Views " area to " Page Layout ". A ruler will appear above your table.
