Do you work with Word and would like to insert a sum sign? We'll show you how..
If you work with Word, you sometimes have to insert special characters that cannot be found on the keyboard. You can insert the sum symbol (Σ), the Greek letter sigma, either using a keyboard shortcut or using the symbol gallery in Word. We'll show you both ways.
There are specific keyboard shortcuts for special characters. Usually you have to hold down the [Alt] key and then enter a number combination in the number pad. The key combination for the sum symbol in Word is [Alt] + [0931] . Alternatively, you can also enter " 2211 " and then press the key combination [Alt] + [C] . This also works without a number pad. Note: The sigma generated with [Alt] + [0931] is smaller than the other variants shown here.
