With a new and useful feature, you can record and save calls right in the Skype app. We'll show you how..

Skype is software that allows you to communicate with friends, relatives and colleagues worldwide for free. In the latest version of the Skype app it is possible to record voice and video calls. This enables you to document important conversations directly in the app. Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available for Windows 10, and you can only use the recording function for calls to Skype users. In our tips + tricks we show you how to use this function in the iOS and Android app.

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open Skype with the Android or iOS app and start a voice or video call with a contact or group. Then, during the call, click on the plus icon in the lower call bar.

2nd step:

To start recording, click " Start Recording ". A banner in the upper edge of the screen informs all interlocutors that the conversation has been recorded.

3rd step:

To end the recording, click on the plus symbol again and then on " Stop recording ".

4th step:

The recording is saved for 30 days for all call participants in the chat. To see the video, tap the chat icon in the lower left. You will then see the recording of your voice or video call in the chat history on the left. To download and save the video, press and hold it. Then select " Save " in the menu that appears .

1. Open Skype and start a call. Then click on the plus symbol > " Start recording ".
2. To stop the recording, click the plus symbol > " Stop recording " again.
3. The video is saved in the chat. To see it, click the chat icon in the lower left.
4. To save the video, press and hold the video, then select " Save ".
