In the past, you had to laboriously order the deletion of your Amazon account from customer service. The process is now easier. We'll show you how to remove your Amazon account.

Delete your Amazon account directly via the link

Since December 2020, the account deletion is no longer so hidden. To do this, click on this link: amazon.de/privacy/data-deletion . Then proceed as follows:

1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select a reason for deletion.
2. Then check the box next to " Yes, I would like to permanently close my Amazon account and delete my data. "
3. As a last step, confirm the deletion by clicking the " Close my account " button .

The Amazon account can now be deleted much more easily.

Delete your Amazon account via customer support

Follow our step-by-step instructions , the quick start guide or the explanatory video .

1st step:

Open this link to go to Amazon customer service: www.amazon.de/gp/help/customer/contact-us . You may need to log into your account beforehand. Then click on " Questions about data protection ".

2nd step:

First select "Data information" as the topic and " Close account and delete data " as the concern . The " E-Mail " button will appear at the bottom . Click on it.

3rd step:

Before your request is sent to Amazon customer service, you have to enter your name below . Optionally, you can also write a message explaining why you want to delete your account - but you can also ignore that. Then click on " Send E-Mail ".

You will then receive an email from Amazon customer service within 12 hours with all the important information about deleting your account. Read them carefully. In order to have your account permanently deleted, you have to reply to the e-mail and explicitly request the deletion again.

Quick guide: customer support

1. Open the following link www.amazon.de/gp/help/customer/contact-us and click on " Questions about data protection ".
2. Select " Data information " as the topic and " Close account and delete data " as the concern .
3. Then click on " Email ".
4. Before your request is emailed to customer service, you have to enter your name below and you can optionally write a message.
5. Click on " Send E-Mail ".
6. You will receive an email from Amazon customer service within the next 12 hours, to which you have to reply so that your account is deleted.
