1st step:

Before you can import your Google Calendar into Thunderbird, you need to install two add-ons: Lightning and Provider for Google Calender . To do this, open Thunderbird and click the menu icon in the top right corner . Open the menu and click on " Add ons ".

2nd step:

Go to " Extensions " on the left and then enter " Lightning " in the search mask at the top right and confirm with [ Enter ].

3rd step:

Install Lightning by clicking Install to the right of the add-on .

4th step:

After the installation you have to reload Thunderbird . Then install " Provider for Google Calender " in the same way.

Edit configuration in Thunderbird from version 68

In newer versions from Thunderbird 68 onwards , the add-on does not work without adjusting a value in the Thunderbird configuration. We will show you step-by-step which value you need to change so that you can continue to synchronize the Google calendar successfully.

1st step:

Click the three-line menu , then click Settings > Settings .

2nd step:

Select " Advanced " from the menu on the left . Then go to the " General " tab and click on " Edit configuration ... ".

3rd step:

Then go to " I am aware of the dangers! ". Don't worry, the following settings will not endanger the stability of your Thunderbird.

4th step:
