Note : By changing the add-on interface in version 78.0, numerous add-ons have already been adapted - the calendar, which was formerly known as the "Lightning" extension, has become part of the program. So if you find the calendar as a tab in Thunderbird, all you have to do is install the " Provider for Google Calendar " add-on .

Before you can import your Google Calendar into Thunderbird, you need to install two add-ons: Lightning and Provider for Google Calender . To do this, open Thunderbird and click the menu icon in the top right corner . Open the menu and click on " Add ons ".

Go to " Extensions " on the left and then enter " Lightning " in the search mask at the top right and confirm with [ Enter ].

Edit configuration in Thunderbird from version 68

In newer versions from Thunderbird 68 onwards , the add-on does not work without adjusting a value in the Thunderbird configuration. We will show you step-by-step which value you need to change so that you can continue to synchronize the Google calendar successfully.

Click the three-line menu , then click Settings > Settings .
