If you don't want to remember all your passwords for e-mail inboxes, online shops and social media, you can save them in your browser. This is also possible in Firefox. If you've forgotten a password, that's not so bad: Firefox simply inserts the saved access data. This article explains how you can display a saved password, for example if you need it on another device.

1st step:

Open Firefox and click on the burger menu in the upper right corner (three horizontal bars). In the menu that opens, select " Access data and passwords ". Alternatively, you can enter "about: logins" in the address line and press [ Enter ]. A new tab with the Firefox function "Lockwise" opens.

Here you can see on the left which login details you have saved in Firefox. Select the data you want to view. Your username will be displayed anyway. To display the password , click on the eye symbol next to it .

The password is displayed. To hide it again , click the eye again ( crossed out ).

Open Firefox and click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper right corner . In the menu that opens, select " Settings ". A new tab with the settings opens.

2nd step

In the settings, select " Data protection and security " on the left . Scroll down to the point " Access data and passwords " and click on " Saved access data ... ". A small window will open..

3rd step:

Here you can see which login details you have saved in Firefox. Now click on " Show passwords ". A security question appears, confirm this with " Yes ". Your saved passwords will now be displayed in clear text.

  1. Enter " about: logins " in the address bar and press [ Enter ]. A new tab with Firefox-Lockwise opens.
  2. Select the dates you want to see here. Your user name is displayed and the password is shown as dots. To also display the password, click on the eye symbol next to it .
  3. The password is now displayed. To hide it, click the eye a second time (crossed out).
