Third parties can donate once or regularly via a donation button. In this tipps + tricks article, we explain what you have to pay attention to.

How to create a donate button with PayPal

You cannot directly create a donation link on PayPal. However, there is the option of creating a so-called donation button in order to then integrate it on your website or share it on social networks. To do this, follow our step-by-step instructions or read the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open paypal.com/de/donate/buttons to create the button for donating. If you are not yet registered, use " Log in " to log into your PayPal account.

2nd step:

You will then be redirected to the " Create donation button " page . Here you can now define different settings for " Country / Region ", " Language " and the PayPal button format . You can also use your own button graphic. Adjust your settings and the design as desired and click " Next ".

3rd step:

In the next step, you can optionally state your donation goal and set certain programs for the donation to choose from. Define your preferences and click " Next " again.

4th step:

Now set the currency and options for the donation amounts . Once the setting has been made, click " Next " again.

5th step:

You will then receive an overview of your settings. Now click on " Finish and get code ".

6th step:

Finally, a shared link will appear that you can integrate on your website or share in social networks. Simply copy this using the " Copy " button. You will also receive a QR code to share.
