Change WhatsApp background

The WhatsApp background can easily be changed in the app settings. This is how you give the app a touch of individuality.

1st step:

At the top right, tap the Settings icon .

2nd step:

Tap on Chats .

3rd step:

Open the menu item " Background ".

4th step:

Now select an image source . You can choose between your own images (gallery) or standard backgrounds .

5th step

Tap the background you want.

6th step

Now confirm your choice with " Use ".

iPhone

Open " Chat Background ".

Select the image source . You can use your own images (photos) or choose standard backgrounds.

Now select your background image.

Confirm your choice with " Define ".

Individual WhatsApp background for a single chat

1st step:

Open a desired chat in WhatsApp for which you want to set up an individual background.

2nd step:

Then tap on the three-point menu in the upper right corner .

3rd step:

Then select the " Background " setting .

4th step:

If you are in dark mode for WhatsApp, you can now dim the background . Here tap on " Change " to change the background for the selected chat. If you are not in dark mode, you can skip this step.

5th step:

Now you can choose a background you want.

6th step:

You will then see a preview of the chat background. Tap on " Set Background ".

7th step:

You can now choose whether this background should only be set for the chat you have selected , "Lisa" in our example, or whether the background should be set for all chats in light mode or dark mode . Then tap OK .

8th step:

The new background was then selected.

iPhone

In the chat, tap on the contact name at the top .

Then select " Backgrounds & Sounds ".

Now tap on " Choose a new background ".

You will then see the preview. Here tap on " Set ".

7th step:

The new background was then selected for the chat.

4. After setting the setting, tap OK to select the background.
