After a long wait, the Messenger Telegram rolled out one-on-one video calls for its users. The app previously only supported voice calls. How to start a video call in Telegram is explained below.

How to start a video call in Telegram

Video calls in Telegram are only available for the Android and iOS applications. Group calls are currently not possible, but this feature should be released in the coming months. To make video calls with Telegram, all you need to do is update your app to the latest version. Also make sure that the other chat partner has also updated the messenger. 1st step:

Open the Telegram app on your smartphone and go to the desired chat there .

2nd step:

Then tap on the three-point menu in the top right to open the other options of the chat.

Then select the menu item " Video call ".

4th step:

If this is your first video call in the app, you will first need to give Telegram the permissions it needs to record video and audio. Simply tap on " Allow ". Also make sure that your chat partner does the same, otherwise the connection cannot be established when you call.

The video call will then start.
