The Signal app is considered a particularly secure messenger. More and more people are using it as an alternative to WhatsApp. Of course, messages sent on Signal can also be deleted. Best of all: You have the choice whether only you should no longer see the message or whether the sent content is also deleted for your chat partner.

Signal: delete messages in the app

1st step:

Press and hold the message you want to delete. A menu bar opens at the bottom of the iPhone. It's at the top on Android devices. About the icon with the three lines you can select additional messages. You can then delete the message (s) with a tap on the trash can symbol .

2nd step:

Now you have to choose for whom the message will be deleted. If you just don't want to see the message anymore, select " Delete for me ". If you want to delete the message for all recipients and yourself, select " Delete for everyone ".

Delete entire conversation in Signal

You can of course delete an entire conversation. To do this, swipe left on the unwanted conversation on iPhone and tap Delete . On Android, press and hold the conversation in the overview of your conversations. Then tap the trash can icon in the top right corner. After you have confirmed the deletion, this conversation is irrevocably gone.
